ICPAC

ICPAC was created in 1986 by the Indiana General Assembly. Under the direction of the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, ICPAC's mission is to inform, encourage, and support the education and career development of the people of Indiana.

Indiana Guidance Report

Each fall, ICPAC sends out over 85,000 9th-grade and 65,000 11th-grade questionnaire forms to public and private high and middle schools throughout the state. Each school distributes and collects the forms and then returns them to ICPAC early in the school year. These forms are then optically scanned and loaded into a database.

Counselors might use data from the Guidance Report to:

• Compare a school's students with others around the state. Are students well-informed about their education options? How are students at the school different from the rest of the state?
• Identify needs and interests of a school's students. For example, how many 9th-grade female students want to major in engineering? find an apprenticeship? participate in jobshadowing?
• Plan career and education guidance programming. Data may suggest programming or staffing needs.

If you need help or more information, please call the ICPAC Hotline at 1-800-992-2076.
Thank you.
