Hello Blazer Fans and Athletes!

We are looking forward to a great year in Blazer Athletics.  Our student athletes have been working very hard and are ready to do their best.

Central’s athletic programs offer our students an exciting opportunity to become involved in our school community.  Students gain experience in many areas that will aid them later in life.  These include working together as a team, self-discipline, self-sacrifice, and time management.

We are fortunate to have dedicated student athletes, excellent coaches, and outstanding athletic facilities.  We are grateful for the support and good sportsmanship of our parents and fans.

Remember, Once a Blazer Always a Blazer!  Go big Blue!

A message from the athletic director...

I would like to welcome everyone to Blazer Sports!  We encourage you to attend home and away contests in each of our twenty-one varsity sports and support our student athletes in a positive way. We ask our coaches and athletes to present themselves as good ambassadors of the school and community at all times.  Please help us by doing the same in a positive way.  The value of interscholastic athletic competition is multi-faceted and includes many issues beyond the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.  The concepts of teamwork, self-discipline, accepting rules, dealing with adversity, respecting your opponent, respecting the game officials and accepting their decisions are all ideas found at the core of why interscholastic competition is so essential to the high school experience.

Our Coaching staff has been working with the student athletes so they may achieve both on and off the playing fields.  We believe athletics do not stop at the end of a practice or contest.  Athletics is an experience that will be used for a lifetime.

I look forward to seeing you at many of our contests this season.  Good luck to all our athletes and coaches.

You must have an athletic physical on file in the athletic office, you must have your $20.00 athletic fee (per sport) paid in the athletic office, and you must be eligible academically in order to come to try-outs.

Catherine Wolf Award The Catherine Wolf Award is presented to the outstanding senior female athlete in the Elkhart Community Schools and is chosen by a Selection Committee. The selection is "based on the rules and purposes established for this award which is hereby established and will be continued by a Selection Committee" under the direction of the Elkhart Community Schools and the Elkhart Truth.

IHSAA Organized in 1903, the Indiana High School Athletic Association is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization that is self-supporting without the use of tax monies.

The IHSAA Physical Evaluation Form has been revised for upcoming 2009-10 school year. You may download the PDF here.

Any high school in the state, or any junior high school offering ninth grade, whether public, private, parochial, or institutional, if accredited by the Indiana Department of Education, may become a member of the Association by making a formal application that is authorized by its board of education and by subscribing to the rules and By-Laws of the Association.
