Visiting Cheerleaders and Coaches!

  We always enjoy hosting visiting cheerleaders and coaches at Elkhart Central High School and Northside Gym. Please make sure all of your stunts comply with the NFHS Spirit rules. There have been some changes this year, so please take a few minutes to read them below. We can not allow basket tosses or stunts that invert (flip/head below the shoulders) flyers in the air.

*2-10-2: New: Basket tosses and other similar multi-base tosses are permitted only on appropriate mats, grass, rubberized and soft-yielding surfaces. Rationale: The current cheer climate is focused on risk minimization and this rule is consistent with that emphasis. ----Although Rice Field does have a "rubberized surface", we feel as thought it is still too hard of a surface to throw baskets.

*2-8-2: A flyer must not be in an inverted position except for the following:

Forward suspended roll;

During a mount that begins from an inverted position on the performing surface to a non-inverted stunt shoulder height or below.
